With the laundry hung, Fabian decided to get himself a nice refreshment. His mother was notoriously bad at attending household chores like doing the family's laundry or cooking for anyone other than herself. Routinely Fabiola would allow the dust and dirt to build up over time, which niether her nor his flakey brother Falk seemed to notice, inevitably driving Fabian to distraction.

Now, with the laundry washed and drying, he felt a strong sense of accomplishment and pride in this own cleanliness. But that feeling dissipated as soon he walked through the door back into the grimy house. He quickly forgot about the refreshment.
